In 2001, A Beezy arrived in Detroit under circumstances that most would find daunting. He was on the run, trying to find a fresh start. His baby mom, showing immense kindness, let him move in with her to a rundown apartment on Chicago Boulevard, squeezed between Linwood and Dexter. The neighborhood was tough, and so was life back then. A Beezy was hustling just to get by, caught up in a cycle that had him in and out of jail since the age of 19.
Detroit was a city where survival was the priority, and A Beezy was no stranger to struggle. He found himself repeatedly on the wrong side of the law, each time hoping to break free but finding himself back where he started.
Caught in the Cycle of Crime
After serving a stretch in prison, A Beezy was released in 2008. Like many others who’ve been through the system, he faced the challenge of starting over. It wasn’t long before he got involved in what most would call fraud—a hustle that, for a time, seemed like it might be his ticket out of poverty. He made more money than he ever had before, but it came at a price. By 2009, he was back in prison, a cycle that would continue until September 9th, 2020, when he was finally released from the federal system.
But this time, something was different. A Beezy was determined that this release would be his last. He knew he needed to make a change, and he was ready to take the steps necessary to turn his life around.
Finding a New Path: From Hustling to Filmmaking
Two years after his release, in October 2022, A Beezy was sitting on a substantial amount of cash. He had made it through the toughest parts of his life and now had an opportunity to invest in something meaningful. That’s when a good friend, Makeiva Albritten, gave him some advice that would change his life: “Why don’t you invest in an independent film?”
The suggestion hit home. A Beezy had been writing stories during his time in prison, and he had a script ready to go. With newfound motivation, he decided to dive into the world of filmmaking. By November 2022A Beezy was on set helping direct and starring in his 1st movie, Watch Your Back

Breaking Free for Good
In February 2024, A Beezy finally got off federal probation, marking the first time in years that he was truly free—no more restrictions, no more looking over his shoulder. This freedom was not just a legal status but a turning point in his life, signaling the end of a long and difficult chapter.
Faith and Redemption
A Beezy is quick to credit his faith for helping him through the darkest times. “I couldn’t have done it without my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ,” he says, acknowledging the spiritual foundation that has kept him grounded. For A Beezy, his films are more than just entertainment—they’re a reflection of his journey and a message of hope to others who might be struggling.
