Vasjan, also known as Vasil Zisi, is riding high after scoring a Grammy® nomination for his work on The Fury, Antonio Vergara’s standout contemporary blues album. This recognition in the Best Contemporary Blues Album category for the 2025 Grammy® Awards is a huge career milestone for Vasjan, an artist who has steadily made waves since arriving in the U.S.

A Unique Project That Resonates

Released in late August 2024, The Fury is a testament to the power of cross-cultural collaboration. The 13-track album takes the soulful roots of blues and injects it with fresh, global sounds. “I loved being part of a project that wasn’t afraid to push boundaries,” Vasjan said. “It’s blues, but it’s also a melting pot of everything we brought to the table.”

Vasjan’s contribution was more than just playing music; he helped weave in the layers that gave the album its distinctive, modern edge. “For me, it was about finding that balance between honoring the classics and adding something new,” he noted.

Vasjan’s Journey to This Moment

The road to this Grammy® moment hasn’t been easy for Vasjan. Born in Albania, he made the leap to the U.S. in 2018, carving out a name for himself in the competitive world of club promotion and later, music. Over the years, he’s collaborated with big names like Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, and Sean Paul. “I’ve always believed that hard work would open doors,” he said. “Being recognized for The Fury proves that.”

Starting his music career in 2021, Vasjan quickly racked up over 10 million streams across various platforms. He’s also been a four-time Promoter of the Year in Massachusetts and earned accolades from Rhode Island and Massachusetts for his influence in nightlife. Beyond music, his clothing brand, Vas Baby Collections, is thriving in New England. “From promoting clubs to being part of Grammy®-nominated work, it’s been a wild journey,” Vasjan admitted.

Why The Fury Matters

This Grammy® nomination isn’t just a win for Vasjan or Antonio Vergara—it’s a testament to what happens when artists break down barriers and collaborate. “Music is at its best when it connects people,” Vasjan said. “I think that’s why The Fury resonates. It’s the sound of different worlds meeting and creating something powerful.”

The Fury has shown that contemporary blues can still surprise, innovate, and move people. It proves that even as the genre evolves, it holds onto its roots while inviting new voices. “Working with Antonio and the rest of the team taught me that collaboration is where the magic happens,” Vasjan added.

Looking Ahead

While this Grammy® nomination is a huge deal, Vasjan isn’t planning to slow down anytime soon. “This isn’t the end; it’s just a reminder that I’m on the right path,” he said. “I can’t wait to see where music takes me next.”

For Vasjan, the recognition marks a pivotal chapter but also fuels his passion for what comes next. And as he continues to grow, one thing is clear: his story is just beginning.
