Suzana Kennedy’s story is proof that the runway doesn’t have an expiration date—and that passion, timing, and the right people can completely reshape a career. She sat down with us to talk about her journey as a fashion model, the break she took, and how a single photoshoot reignited everything.
How did your modeling career first begin?
“I started in my early twenties. It was mostly department store modeling at first, then it grew into working with some great brands like Ralph Lauren and BCBGMAXAZRIA. I was young, excited to prove myself.”

What made you step away?
“Life just shifted for a while. I needed space to grow in other areas, and honestly, I lost touch with modeling for a bit. But deep down, I knew it was something I loved—I just wasn’t finished with it yet.”
What led to your comeback?
“I decided I was ready to return, so I started looking for a photographer to help me rebuild my portfolio. That’s when I found Chris Otrebla. He saw something in me that even I hadn’t fully tapped into. It was a turning point.”
Tell us about your connection with Aquatico Clothing Company.
“Chris introduced me to them. Aquatico gave me real opportunities to get back in the game—photoshoots, fashion shows, creative collaborations. They didn’t just treat me like a model; they treated me like a partner. That helped me grow professionally in a big way.”

What does modeling mean to you now?
“It means more than it did when I first started. Now I walk with purpose, not just for the camera, but for myself. Modeling has become a deeper expression of who I am—my story, my strength, my second act.”
Any advice for someone who’s thinking about starting late or coming back?
“Don’t let timing define you. If it’s still in you, it’s yours. All it takes is the right people who believe in you and your willingness to step forward again. That’s what changed everything for me.”
Suzana Kennedy’s journey is one of rediscovery and bold return. And if her story proves anything, it’s this: sometimes, stepping away is exactly what you need in order to come back and truly own the runway.
