Jessica Anissa Powell is more than a pretty face. After stepping away from the modeling industry to embrace motherhood, she’s made a stunning comeback, gracing international magazines and proving that success doesn’t stop with life’s transitions. From balancing a business to being a hands-on mom, Jessica’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. We sat down with her to hear how she does it all.
Q: Why did you decide to return to modeling after taking a break?
Honestly, I missed it. Modeling has always been a huge part of my life, and I felt like there was still so much I wanted to accomplish. Becoming a mom actually gave me more motivation to go back. I wanted to show my child—and other women—that you don’t have to give up your dreams just because you’re a parent.
Q: You’ve been featured in magazines around the world. How does that feel?
It’s amazing. When I first started, I never imagined my work would reach this level. It’s surreal seeing yourself in a magazine, but more than that, it’s a chance to represent where I’m from. Being able to showcase Cayman Islands talent on a global stage is something I’m really proud of.
Q: On top of modeling, you’re a business owner. What inspired that?
I’ve always wanted to challenge myself beyond the modeling world. Starting a business was my way of doing that. It’s definitely been a learning curve, but I love it. It’s rewarding to build something from the ground up and know that it’s entirely yours.
Q: How do you juggle being a mom, model, and business owner?
It’s not easy, I’ll tell you that. A lot of planning goes into my days, and I’ve learned the importance of prioritizing. I make sure I’m present for my child when it matters most, but I also have a great support system that helps me manage everything.
Q: What’s the biggest message you want to share with women?
You can have it all, but it takes work. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s too late or that you can’t do something because of your circumstances. Whether you’re a mom, starting over, or facing other challenges, don’t be afraid to dream big and go for it.
Q: What’s next for you?
I have some exciting projects in the works, both in modeling and business. But beyond that, I want to continue inspiring women to push boundaries and redefine what success looks like.
Jessica Anissa Powell is proof that with determination and hard work, you can thrive in every role life throws your way. From the Cayman Islands to the international spotlight, she’s a living example of beauty with purpose.
