Born and raised in Philly, DJ Odot grew up in a city with deep musical roots — and he soaked it all in. From the jump, Odot was in the mix of the city’s booming hip-hop and neo-soul scenes. Performing with legends like The Roots, Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, and Busta Rhymes, he quickly made a name for himself as someone who could move any crowd.

Early in his career, Odot was signed to Dexter Wansel’s production company under Philadelphia International, a major stepping stone that taught him the business and creative sides of the industry. But while others were chasing the spotlight, Odot realized something deeper — he wasn’t just made to perform. He was made to create.

The Studio Became Home

It was during his time at Sigma Studios — a place that’s legendary in its own right — where he met Samori Coles, a producer and label head who saw the same vision. That moment kicked off a 25-year partnership and friendship that still stands strong today. “Lil Drumma Boy Recordings — that’s my home,” Odot says. “Me and Samori been together 25 plus years.

Together, they’ve created everything from soulful R&B tracks to church-shaking gospel records. His first gospel single, Let’s Get Down, was recorded there — proof that Odot doesn’t stay in one lane. “I sing, I rap, I DJ — that’s what God gave me. Why not use it all?

Enter SauceKing

Odot’s creativity runs so deep, he had to create an alter ego to handle it. That’s where “SauceKing” comes in — his bold, no-limits persona that lets him push boundaries and experiment with sound. “It gives me life, man.” Through SauceKing, he’s dropped several independent projects that show off his range and personality.

Gospel Love

His latest recognition came in a different space altogether — gospel. Odot was nominated for a Gospel Choice Music Award for his work on The Jackson Brothers’ single “Stand Up.” That track turned heads and proved he could make an impact wherever he goes. Whether it’s church, clubs, or festivals — his music hits.

Shows That Leave a Mark

If you’ve ever seen Odot live, you already know — it’s a full experience. He brings charisma, energy, and a feel-good vibe that sticks with you. People don’t just watch his shows — they feel them. “I want you to leave smiling, sweating, and remembering the name.

More Than Music

Now, Odot’s working on a new EP that’s set to blend all his influences — hip-hop, soul, gospel, maybe even a little rock. And when he’s not in the studio, he’s back in the community, mentoring young artists in Philly. “We’ve got too much talent in this city to let it go to waste.
