Caroline Marie’s journey from Brazil to Hollywood is the stuff of cinematic dreams. The French-Brazilian actress has built a reputation for her versatility and commitment, tackling roles that range from psychological dramas to action-packed thrillers. In this candid conversation, Caroline shares how her international upbringing, passion for storytelling, and love of action films have shaped her career.
Q:How has your international background shaped your acting style?
It’s been everything. Growing up in Brazil gave me a natural passion for storytelling—Brazilians are expressive people, and that’s reflected in our art and culture. But I wanted to push myself, so I studied in France, the UK, and now here in the U.S. Each place taught me something unique. France emphasized the emotional depth of a character, the UK focused on technique and discipline, and the U.S. is where I’ve learned how to balance artistry with the business side of acting. I feel like all these experiences help me bring authenticity to my work, no matter what role I’m playing.
Q:What’s it been like transitioning from the UK to Hollywood?
Exciting and intense! Moving to Los Angeles felt like diving into the deep end, but that’s where the magic happens, right? In my first year here, I’ve been fortunate to land two major films. Double Exposure was an emotionally challenging project—playing a nurse helping someone haunted by their past required a lot of subtlety and empathy. Then there’s Cruel Love, where I got to tap into darker emotions and play a role that felt raw and real. Both roles pushed me in different ways, and being in Hollywood has opened my eyes to what’s possible for my career.
Q: You’re working with Rigan Machado on an action film. How’s that been?
Rigan is incredible. He’s a jiu-jitsu legend, and now he’s creating these action-packed stories that are so much fun to be a part of. In Machado Brothers Against Zombies, I play a gang member fighting for good, so there’s a lot of action involved. He’s been training me in martial arts and stage combat, and it’s been such a learning experience. I’ve always admired strong female characters in action films, and it’s exciting to step into that space myself. It’s challenging, but I’m loving every second of it.
Q: You’ve had success in the UK as well. What stands out about your time there?
I really grew as an actress in the UK. I starred in three feature films and took on several supporting roles that helped me develop my craft. Two projects, Off His Job and The Magnificence of You, were particularly rewarding because they earned me Best Actress awards. Those roles pushed me to explore different sides of myself, and I’m so grateful for the recognition. The UK has a rich tradition of storytelling, and it gave me a solid foundation before making the leap to Hollywood.
Q:Are you planning to do more action films?
Definitely! I’ve fallen in love with the genre. There’s something so empowering about action roles—they challenge you physically and emotionally in a way that’s completely unique. Training with Rigan has been eye-opening, and I feel ready to take on more roles in this space. I’d love to lead an action film someday, especially one with a strong female character who’s both fierce and vulnerable.
Q:What keeps you passionate about acting?
For me, it’s the ability to tell stories that resonate with people. Acting lets you step into someone else’s life and make their story feel real. Whether it’s a drama, a thriller, or even an action movie, I want to create characters that people connect with. That’s what keeps me going—the idea that someone, somewhere, might see my work and feel something deeply because of it.
Caroline Marie is a testament to the power of hard work and adaptability. With projects like The Killing Machine and Machado Brothers Against Zombies on the horizon, her future in Hollywood looks as bright as her talent is undeniable.
