Aninshia Camilla Lunette, a model, pageant queen, and actor—but the title that means the most to her is writer. For years, image defined her world, but she says finding the courage to share her own words has been the most liberating step of all.
“I’ve always loved poetry,” she says. “As a child I’d sit in the garden with a notebook, filling pages while everyone else was playing.” With shelves lined with books by Plath, Hughes, and Shakespeare—many gifted by her uncle—writing became her first outlet, a way to process emotions long before she had the words to speak them out loud.

Healing Through Creativity
Life has tested Aninshia in ways that shaped her art. Emergency cervical surgery and a long recovery forced her to slow down, reflect, and rebuild. Years earlier, a torn hamstring tendon had taken her out of dance, but she came back stronger—strong enough to train ballet on pointe. Today, alongside her creative work, she’s a certified personal trainer and reformer Pilates instructor.
The Artist’s Philosophy
For Aninshia, art isn’t about chasing money or recognition. “It’s about being in a state of wanting to create,” she explains. That philosophy fuels everything she does, from her poetry to her modeling shoots to the leisurewear brand she recently launched, Empezar.

Music, especially Hip-Hop, is another source of inspiration. She lights up when she talks about legends like Biggie, 2Pac, J. Cole, and Busta Rhymes, as well as her love for Bad Bunny and Nicky Jam. A highlight of her career so far was working on a video with A$AP Rocky. “He was great to be around,” she says with a smile. Meeting her hero Snoop Dogg was also unforgettable—having grown up listening to all his albums, she calls the moment a dream come true. She even briefly dated Puerto Rican rapper Residente, adding yet another chapter to her close connection with the world of Hip-Hop.

What’s Next
Aninshia is already working on her second poetry collection, Tinted Rose Era, set to release next year. She continues to merge creativity with movement, drawing on her background in dance and fitness, while also continuing her modeling career.
