Born and raised in Illinois, Aarron Loggins was introduced to a challenge many would consider limiting—being hard of hearing. Yet, from an early age, he proved that limitations can be transformed into strengths. By the age of three years old, he had learned American Sign Language (ASL), laying the foundation for his life’s work as a performer, advocate, and cultural leader.

ASL became more than just a means of communication for Aarron—it became his art form, his way of storytelling, and his bridge to inspire audiences worldwide.

Discovering His Passion for Performance

Aarron’s natural ability to communicate with his hands and body quickly found an outlet in the performing arts. He joined several groundbreaking organizations, including:

  • Gallaudet Dance Company – showcasing the talents of students from the world’s only university for the Deaf and hard of hearing.
  • Gallaudet Theater Company – where he honed his acting craft.

Aarron’s most defining moment in the public eye came in 2019, when he performed the National Anthem at Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, Georgia. Standing alongside Gladys Knight, as well as pop stars Chloe x Halle, his ASL interpretation of the anthem reached millions.

Although his performance was cut from the main broadcast, it quickly went viral online, surpassing one million views and sparking conversation about inclusivity and visibility for Deaf performers. His artistry on that stage cemented his reputation as both a performer and activist, proving that the Deaf community deserved equal representation on the world’s largest platforms.

He also shared stages with globally recognized stars, including Travis Scott and other celebrated artists, expanding his reach into mainstream entertainment.

Breaking Barriers in Pageantry

In 2014, Aarron made history when he won the title of Mister Deaf United States. That same year, he went on to win Mister Deaf International, becoming the first African-American ever to hold the title.

These victories gave him international recognition and two nicknames that continue to follow him:

  • “Deaf King” – symbolizing his pride and leadership within the Deaf community.
  • “Mr. International” – highlighting his global influence as a performer and cultural figure.

Education and Training

Aarron’s artistic foundation is rooted in strong academic training. He earned his degree in Theater Arts from Gallaudet University, the premier institution for Deaf and hard of hearing students. His studies not only enhanced his stagecraft but also deepened his understanding of how art can be a tool for advocacy and education.

Advocacy and Activism

Beyond entertainment, Aarron is a dedicated advocate for the Deaf and hard of hearing community. His mission extends to breaking stereotypes, creating visibility, and fighting for accessibility.

One of his most notable contributions was his TED Talk: “Why We Need You to Advocate for Universal Closed Captioning”, where he urged society to make media more inclusive. His work continues to inspire conversations about equity in education, arts, and entertainment.

Believe In YOURSELF Foundation

Aarron is currently building a new initiative called Believe In YOURSELF, a foundation designed to encourage individuals across the globe to embrace self-confidence, resilience, and ambition. Through this project, he hopes to empower people—both Deaf and hearing—to overcome obstacles and unlock their potential.
